Job Description

Core Responsibilities



Ensure timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Advise and maintain comprehensive financial policies and procedures for the accounting department. Manage the reconciliation of bank statements and ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with all tax regulations. Conduct financial variance analysis and provide insights for performance improvement. Support in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts. Ensure robust financial controls are in place to prevent inaccuracies and fraud. Implement and manage efficient financial systems and software to enhance productivity. Prepare and review schedules, reconciliations, and other audit-related materials to support the external audit process. Assist auditors with their examination by providing thorough documentation and responding to audit queries.

Managerial Responsibilities



Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures

Develop and implement staffing plans to meet department needs and strategic objectives.

Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.

Supervise and support team members, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to succeed.

Identify training needs and opportunities for professional development within the team.

Monitor and report on team performance metrics, ensuring alignment with department and corporate goals.

Organizational Responsibilities



Implement governance policies and procedures in their areas of responsibility. Monitor compliance with MHAO's guidelines. Collect and analyze data to prepare detailed reports on team performance and project status for senior management review. Coordinate change activities within teams, ensuring clear communication and seamless implementation. Engage in training to improve management and technical skills, supporting team performance and MHAO's objectives.

Educational Qualifications and Certifications



Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting. CA, ACCA or CPA is mandatory.
