The opportunity for you
We're looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in Dubai, working closely with the Financial Controller in a small, collaborative and high-performing environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified finance professional who wants hands-on exposure across the full finance lifecycle within a professional services setting. You'll play a key role in supporting day-to-day financial operations while developing your technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities
In this role, you will support the smooth running of the finance function, including:

  • Managing the end-to-end accounts payable process, including preparation of bank payments
  • Processing employee expense claims and handling cashiering duties, including posting receipts and settling disbursements
  • Completing bank reconciliations, cash flow preparation and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Posting month-end journals and supporting accurate financial reporting
  • Assisting with billing postings, ensuring correct VAT treatment and compliance
  • Supporting the preparation and filing of quarterly VAT returns
  • Processing payroll through WPS in line with local regulations
  • Supporting compliance with accounting standards, tax and regulatory requirements
  • Assisting with year-end audits, internal controls, budgeting and reforecasting activities
  • Acting as a key finance point of contact for fee earners and support teams
  • Providing wider finance cover and support, including ad hoc projects as required
Knowledge, skills and experience
To succeed in this role, you will ideally bring:
  • Hands-on experience in accounts payable and general ledger within a professional services or similar environment
  • Part-qualified or studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • A working knowledge of VAT legislation and banking systems (knowledge of Solicitors' Accounts Rules is advantageous)
  • Experience using Aderant or similar finance systems (preferred)
  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive, well-organised approach with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders at all levels
