Our client works in the e-commerce & retail space, based in Dubai.

This role shall take ownership of a broad range of accounting and reporting based disciplines, within the accounting and finance function, supporting the Financial Controller whilst managing the Accounting team. This role shall be heavily focused towards the financial accounting and book-keeping management matters whilst overseeing areas of financial management pertaining to management of expenses, receivable reconciliations, collections and the oversight of treasury related activities.

Accounting management

• Hands on experience in handling month end provisions & accruals and submitting reports to management
• Managing the end to end record to report process including but not limited to month end closing related works, MIS reporting, monthly variance analysis, stock reconciliations
• Ensure the accuracy of accounting in accordance with Group Accounting Policies under IFRS.
• Reviewing bank reconciliations prepared and performed by the accounting team and ensuring the transactions are accurately booked in respective general ledger accounts
• Review and validation of intercompany transactions and balances
• Seeks to continuously improve the way the company performs its month end closing function.

Governance, Risk and Compliance

• Deliver annual statutory financial statements, acting as the primary focal point statutory audits
• Ensures the company operates within the regulatory and statutory laws of each country
• Responsible for end to end financial controlling for the entity and Managing Statutory audits, tax returns (Corporate tax, VAT and withholding tax)
• To manage the company\'s outsourcing accounting and audit firms, to supervise correctness of provided reports and to monitor timely submission of financial statements.

Monitoring and controlling

• Credit control, receivable monitoring and monthly review of receivables by taking full ownership of the order to cash process.
• Monitoring and tracking marketing spends, reconciliation and timely raising of variances
• Liaison with Brand, Marketing and Operations department for expense accruals and order to cash reconciliations
• Driving automation across the team in particular streamlining processes and reducing the impact of manual errors
• Manage and guide the outsourced accounting team responsible for book keeping activities

Ideal Profile

• 8-10 total years\' work experience and with least 5 years\' experience in a similar role. Experience in startups and or large corporate conglomerates will be an advantage
• Certified ACCA / ACA / CA / CPA
• Well versed in dealing with complex business problems relating to trade & inventory, marketing, sales, large data and AR / AP
• Multiple country and currency management is mandatory
• Proficient in consolidation accounting and IFRS
• Previous experience in Big 4
• Strong leadership and strong inter-personal skills
