We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant/Bookkeeper to oversee our financial audits and ensure compliance with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant/Bookkeeper to oversee our financial audits and ensure compliance with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-Day Accounting: Manage daily accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, receipts, and documentation for all transactions.
- Budget Support: Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure financial practices comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Process Improvement: Recommend improvements to accounting workflows, tools, and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Tax Support: Assist with preparation and organization of financial data for tax filings and work with external tax professionals as needed.
- Software Management: Use financial software such as QuickBooks Online to manage company accounts and generate reports.
- Internal Controls: Help implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent financial discrepancies.
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Accountant, with a strong grasp of accounting principles and US GAAP.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, and strong Excel skills.
- High attention to detail with excellent accuracy in record-keeping and reconciliation tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and reliably in a remote environment.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; certification (e.g., CPA, CB) is a plus.
- Experience in a startup or tech environment is advantageous, but not required.
