Job Description

The Accountant will handle daily financial operations and maintain financial records for our travel and tourism company based in Dubai. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring financial records are up-to-date, accurate and compliant with UAE and international financial regulations. This individual should have a deep understanding of the travel and tourism industry and be able to provide financial insights that impact business decisions.

Responsibilities: * Manage Financial Transactions: Oversee day-to-day transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and cash forecasting.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure financial compliance with UAE laws and regulations. Stay up to date with the UAE VAT laws, as well as other regulatory changes that may affect the business.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting processes and prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Travel and Tourism Industry Analysis: Provide a financial perspective on industry trends and dynamics, offering insights that can help shape the company\'s strategic planning.
  • Internal Audits: Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure that financial management practices are followed.
  • Financial Risk Management: Identify potential financial risks and devise mitigation strategies.
  • Liaison: Coordinate with the company\xe2\x80\x99s external auditors and manage work schedules and deadlines.
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and present them to the management team.
  • Payroll Management: Oversee payroll procedures for staff, ensure all UAE labor laws are complied with, and all payments are processed on time.
Qualifications: * Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in the travel and tourism industry.
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally, or similar.
  • Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and preferably Arabic.
  • Knowledge of UAE VAT laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Working hours: As per UAE Labor Law

Location: Dubai, UAE
