Position Overview
Al-Futtaim Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant - Record to Report (R2R) to ensure the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for balance sheet reconciliations, monthly and yearly book closures, and intercompany account monitoring while maintaining adherence to IFRS/IAS standards. This role plays a critical part in ensuring reliable financial statements and supports audits and consolidations across business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and reconcile general ledger (GL) accounts monthly, ensuring full accuracy and compliance with IFRS/IAS standards.
  • Conduct trend analysis to identify discrepancies, implement corrective actions, and improve internal financial controls.
  • Manage monthly and annual financial closing processes, including provisions, accruals, and reclassifications.
  • Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements for submission via the Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) system.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors, ensuring timely documentation and audit readiness.
  • Monitor intercompany accounts, resolve mismatches, and provide reports highlighting issues and progress.
  • Liaise with business finance teams to ensure consistent accounting practices and adherence to company policies.
  • Provide proactive insights and recommendations to strengthen accounting and reporting processes.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience within large organizations or shared service environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of IFRS/IAS compliance and financial reporting frameworks.
  • Proven experience in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and financial consolidation tools.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Familiarity with taxation laws and financial processes in GCC and SEA regions is an advantage.
