JOB PURPOSE
Provide support for Accounting, Audits, and Administration for our operation located at the ESI plant in Abu Dhabi, UAE
KEY RESULT AREAS
Knowledge of processing: delivery notes, invoices, bank statements, ORACLE System
Manage all accounting transactions.
Manage the monthly closure of financial records and the posting of month-end information while ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, as applicable
Prepare budget forecasts.
Publish financial statements on time.
Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
Ensure timely bank payments.
Compute taxes and prepare tax returns.
Control site/plan cost, control CAPES spend
Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
Accurate execution of an on-time payroll
Coordination with human resources
Effective communication with employees and supervisors.
Cooperation with Global Share Service in India
Cooperation with customers in referring to confirming financial figures and balance.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES A. VAT & Tax Accounting
Assist the Finance Manager in preparing the UAE VAT Return by generating accounts payable invoice reports as needed
Process incoming VAT receipts and outgoing VAT payments to/from the UAE tax authorities. Prepare VAT journals under the direction of the Finance Manager to reconcile VAT general ledger control accounts quarterly
Assist in partially preparing the annual expense budgets for the UAE offices using the firm\'s budget tool
B. ACCOUNTING LOCAL
Local ledger accounting entry processing (Local ledger adjustments through ERP )
Local accounting software updates
VAT Monthly tax return preparation and submission
Implementation of law changes- actively monitoring and implementing all legal changes related to VAT, Personal income tax, Corporate income tax, property income tax, and other taxes required by the law
Statutory reports preparation and submissions
Corporate income tax return preparation and submissions
Property Income tax preparation and Tax return submission
Transfer pricing documents preparation
Contacts with Tax office and active participation in all VAT and other tax controls and inspections
Other tax return preparations and submissions required by the law
Responsible for local requirements and deadlines
Other ad hoc required accounting work
C. AUDITS
Active part in statutory and Internal audits (legally required and Harsco internal )
Active communication with auditors, agreement preparations
Responsible for all audit-related deadlines
D. ADMINISTRATION
Filing documents
Maintaining the register of documentation required by the law
Other ad hoc document preparation required by the law
E. OTHER VARIOUS
Participate in monthly meetings with the Finance Manager, as well as other inter-office meetings and training sessions. Take part in the Finance department\'s annual training session
Provide coverage for other offices as required and offer weekend on-demand support to UAE partners during peak times.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The person will work on daily basis directly with Finance Team from ME region and operation team
The person will be contacted by all Harsco employees as well as external suppliers

The Successful Applicant
Previous experience in a similar finance role, preferably within a professional services firm (US-based preferred) with multiple branch offices
Fluency in English is a must, while knowledge of Arabic and other relevant languages in operating jurisdictions would be advantageous
Strong understanding of UAE VAT requirements and applicable tax regulations for business expenditures in Dubai and Abu Dhabi
Ability to work independently, solve problems, prioritize tasks, demonstrate innovation, and maintain strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and professionalism when interacting with individuals at all levels
Ideally, familiarity with professional accounting software used across multiple cost centers
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, ORACLE system
Ability to work under pressure, manage frequent interruptions, and meet tight deadlines while exercising sound judgment, diplomacy, professionalism, and courtesy
