Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with proven experience in e-commerce platforms, particularly Shopify, to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of our e-commerce business, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:



Financial Management:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the e-commerce business. Reconcile daily transactions from Shopify, Stripe, PayPal, and other payment gateways. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

E-Commerce Integration:

Monitor and reconcile sales, refunds, and fees on Shopify and related platforms. Ensure accurate syncing of financial data between Shopify and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero). Manage inventory accounting, including cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations.

Tax Compliance:

Prepare and file VAT/GST, sales tax, and other e-commerce-specific tax requirements. Stay updated on tax regulations for e-commerce transactions across different regions.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist in creating budgets and financial forecasts tailored to e-commerce operations. Analyze financial trends and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. Conduct periodic audits to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the marketing, operations, and logistics teams to ensure alignment on financial processes. Communicate financial insights and recommendations to management in a clear and actionable manner.
