The Accountant cum Cashier is responsible for managing company cash flow, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring proper control of cash, bank, and petty cash transactions. The role involves handling

high-value cash transactions (million-level)

, managing

project-wise petty cash

, and maintaining

multiple company accounts

in compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts & Finance

Handle and control

cash and bank transactions exceeding million-value amounts

with strict accuracy and security. Maintain complete and accurate

books of accounts

for

5-6 company accounts

. Record all financial transactions in the accounting system on a daily basis. Prepare and maintain

cash book, bank book, and general ledger

. Perform

bank reconciliations

regularly and resolve discrepancies promptly. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual

financial closing activities

.

Cash & Petty Cash Management

Plan, control, and monitor

petty cash project-wise

. Ensure timely replenishment and proper documentation of petty cash expenses. Verify supporting documents (vouchers, invoices, approvals) for all cash payments. Maintain strict

internal controls

to prevent cash shortages or misuse.

Project & Operational Support

Coordinate with project teams for cash requirements and expense tracking. Ensure project expenses are recorded accurately against approved budgets. Prepare project-wise cash utilization and expense reports.

Compliance & Controls

Ensure compliance with

company financial policies

, audit requirements, and statutory regulations. Maintain proper filing of financial documents for audits and inspections. Assist internal and external auditors by providing required records and explanations.

Reporting & Coordination

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly

cash flow and expense reports

. Report any cash variances, discrepancies, or risks to management immediately. Coordinate with management, banks, and vendors regarding payments and receipts.
Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum

3-5 years of experience

as an Accountant or Cashier, preferably in

construction or project-based companies

. Proven experience handling

large cash volumes

and multiple accounts. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls. Proficiency in accounting software and

MS Excel

. High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
