Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to manage and oversee the financial operations of our construction and interior fit-out business. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UAE accounting standards, VAT regulations, and the intricacies of project-based accounting in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, general ledgers, and financial statements in accordance with IFRS and UAE regulations. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes. Analyze financial data and provide variance analysis and forecasts. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of MIS reports. Track project costs, revenue recognition, and WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedules. Monitor budget vs. actuals and report deviations to project and finance management. Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate cost coding and timely billing. Oversee invoicing, collections, and payment cycles. Reconcile vendor and customer accounts. Manage aging reports and follow up on outstanding receivables. Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor liquidity needs. Liaise with banks for LCs, bank guarantees, and project financing. Ensure compliance with UAE VAT laws and prepare VAT returns. Support internal and external audits by providing relevant documentation. Stay up-to-date with changes in tax and accounting regulations in the UAE. Work with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar) to manage day-to-day accounting operations. Ensure data integrity and system accuracy.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum 5-8 years of accounting experience within the construction or fit-out industry in the UAE. Strong knowledge of project accounting, VAT regulations, and UAE compliance requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
