Job Description

Job Purpose Preparing MIS reports, journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers, and account and bank reconciliations. Handle monthly closings and account analysis and support the Assistant Finance Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department. Key Job Responsibilities Key Performance Area 1: Business Performance

  • Preparing bank reconciliation.
  • Preparing vendor payments and reconciliation of vendor balances.
  • Checking of cash deposits from respective stores on a daily basis.
  • Preparation of timely payments for telephone bills, petrol, water, and electricity.
  • To prepare and ensure timely payments of expense reimbursement for employees.
  • To monitor, control, and report any unusual variances in outlet expenses.
  • To reconcile and maintain records of related party transactions.
  • Reconciling credit card payments received from respective outlets.
  • Reconciling trade receivables on a regular basis.
  • Ensure sufficient provisions are in place and update the provisions schedule.
  • Maintaining outgoing payment register.
  • Maintaining payment records and files.
  • Preparation and submission of VAT.
  • Providing accounting support during store inventories and posting necessary journals.
  • Posting all month-end closing journals and maintaining necessary schedules.
  • Prepare monthly MIS reports.
  • Point of contact for external, internal, and revenue audits.

  • Ensuring all vendors, customers, and staff payments are made on time according to the payment terms.
Key performance area 3: People Development
  • Developing effective relationships at all levels within the company to be able to provide appropriate business support where necessary.
  • Train yourself to efficiently handle the accounting activities in the absence of the Assistant Finance Manager
Key performance Area 4: Quality Excellence
  • Adherence to company policies, code of conduct, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Be the ambassador for best business practices, ethics, and code of conduct and ensure that business is conducted with uncompromising honesty and integrity while dealing with internal and external customers.
Qualification, Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in accounting or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of experience in the middle east, preferably in the restaurant business.
  • Must be engaging and enthusiastic, a self-starter.
  • Able to work under pressure and with very limited supervision.
  • Able to work on prioritizing work based on importance and urgency.
  • Compliance with local legislation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Oral and written English
  • MS Dynamics Nav working knowledge will be an added advantage.
