This position provides day-to-day accommodation support to the Office of Accessibility including:
Provision of academic material in alternative accessible format for ZU students with disability in order to ensure equal access to education.
Adoption and modification of curriculum printed material (textbooks, PowerPoint presentations, maps, videos, exams.. etc.) and
Maintaining accurate Disability Student Allowance records, detailing academic and financial support given to specific students
The Responsibilities
Under the direction and supervisor of Manager-Office of Accessibility, the incumbent:
Act as the first point of contact for faculty and students to receive the material accommodation requests. Also to ensure proper reformulation of accommodated information.
Provide all types of curriculums’ content & format accommodations for all courses (literacy, math, science etc.):
Print to Audio conversion using a scanner and voice production
Print to electronic (Word file) conversion.
Power Point to Word conversion.
Print to Braille conversion.

Visual depictions to tactile representations.
Accommodate the library material/ books for students with disability.
Provide material accommodation training for ZU volunteers.
Maintain spread sheet statistical records of material accommodations quantity and requests.
Maintain and works with all office equipment needed for material accommodation.
Develop and maintains tracking mechanisms, as required.
Work with suppliers to ensure that Accessibility is aware of resources on the market;
Formulate a survey to get feedback from instructors and students with disability on the accommodated materials.
Organize and runs ZU activities that help promote the acceptance of students with accessibility issues.
Support in organizing facilities and hospitality.
Maintain Disability Student Allowance data base showing what support each student is receiving.
Ensure all DSA recommended supported is acted upon (financial as well as academic)
The Requirements
Must possess minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
