A reputed college in Abu Dhabi, UAE is looking for an Academic Faculty (open rank depending on your experience and qualifications) to teach Aircraft Maintenance Technologiesprogram. The college aims to create skilled professional technologists and engineers capable of performing at the highest international standards to build a knowledge-based economy in the UAE.
Brief job description:

• Ability to develop and deliver curriculum as per EASA Cat. B 1.1 and/or the Foundation Training program requirements and aptitude in teaching theoretical and practical classes.
• The ability to develop practical tasks and conduct practical training on aircraft maintenance activities such as inspection, overhaul, repair, replacement, modification, testing of aircraft Electrical/Instruments/ Aviation Electronics and Communication systems, including the related test equipment.
• Knowledge in the application of the various Non Destructive Testing (NDT) methods.

• The ability to carry out aircraft sheet metal, glass reinforced plastic (GRP) and composite material repair

• Ability to prepare theory examinations and assess practical competence.

• Actively participate in the development, evaluation and updating of the curriculum of the Military Specialized Training courses, Grade examinations, students' practical work and assignments.

• Monitor students' progress continuously through the use of assessments, projects, assignments, and other appropriate evaluation instruments.

• Organize and carry out Aircraft Line Maintenance Activities.

• Knowledge of computer software application related to training.

• Comply with EHS Policies, Programs and Procedures as per the college's General Framework and take responsibility for any aspect of EHS that they are involved in

• Conduct lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, and clinical sessions

• Develop and update subject material

• Develop and deliver different teaching approaches and models including, but not limited to, e-learning, student-centered education, blended education, flipped lecture model, individualized learning

• Act as subject/course coordinators

• Conduct and supervise research and scholarly activities

• Undertake research aligned to their expertise, entity research focus and/or major research priorities of the UAE

• Align undergraduate capstone and graduate projects with career, problem based industrial projects and patentable ideas

• Engage in scholarly activities, innovation, and submission of grant applications to support research goals

• Participate in professional activities such as training, conferences, workshops, etc.

• Organise events and community services such as exhibitions, conferences, competitions, workshops and training sessions

• Develop assessment tools, grading rubrics, and outcome assessment

• Advice and mentor students

• Undertake administrative functions connected to academic outcome reporting, course filing and archiving, course surveys and feedback, grade book, and e-assessments

• Participate in internal and external committees

• Participate in committees for strategy and policy development

• Provide consultation services

• Conduct any other tasks assigned by the line manager

Job Requirement

• Must be a Native English Speaker
• Applicants must be qualified to Master but preferred PhD level (Professional Doctorates are NOT accepted i.e. Doctorate of Education or Doctorate of Business Administration etc)in relevant areas of aviation technologies and/or EASA Cat B1.1-B2 license/FAA A&P license and comparable international education with a cumulative aviation maintenance related experience in Airframe and Aircraft Propulsion Technologies, including teaching experience and sound knowledge in EASA Part-66 and Part-147 Regulations.
• Knowledge in Military Aviation Training Concepts will be an advantage.
• Applicants should have minimum of 1-3 years post Master/PhD teaching experience at Higher Education
• Evidence to active research records and publications, participating in curriculum development with minimum of 2 publications registered in Scopus Database or Scholarly Publications.
• Excellent oral and written English with IELTS academic band of 7 (is a must for non-native English speakers).
