Position Overview

An

HVAC Technician

with restaurant experience is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning and refrigeration systems in restaurants, kitchens, and other food service facilities. The technician ensures that all cooling and ventilation systems operate efficiently to maintain safe food storage conditions and a comfortable environment for customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems, including split units, central AC systems, chillers, and cold room.

Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning for restaurant refrigeration units such as chillers, freezers, display fridges, and cold storage rooms. Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical faults in AC and refrigeration systems. Refill and check refrigerant gas (Freon) levels and detect leaks. Ensure proper ventilation in kitchen areas to maintain safety and air quality standards. Replace filters, fans, compressors, and motors when required. Read and interpret technical diagrams and equipment manuals. Coordinate with restaurant management and kitchen staff to schedule maintenance without disrupting operations. Prepare maintenance and service reports and recommend system improvements.

Qualifications and Skills:

Diploma or Technical Certificate in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or related field Minimum 2 years of experience as an HVAC Technician, including at least 1 year in the restaurant or hospitality industry Strong knowledge of cold rooms, freezers, display chillers, and kitchen ventilation systems Ability to work independently and under pressure Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Familiar with safety standards and environmental regulations in the UAE.
