Department: MEP / Maintenance

Reports To: MEP Supervisor or Site Engineer

Location: Project Sites / Maintenance Locations

Job Purpose

The AC technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems -- including split, ducted, cassette, and package units and necessery chilled water connections, drainage piping etc-- ensuring efficient performance, energy conservation, and comfort across residential, commercial, or office fit-out environment

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation & Commissioning

Install various types of air conditioning units (split, cassette, ducted, VRV/VRF systems).

Carry out ductwork, copper piping, insulation, and drainage connections as per approved drawings.

Perform system testing, vacuuming, gas charging, and commissioning.

Ensure alignment with design specifications and safety standards.

2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Diagnose faults and carry out corrective repairs for cooling systems, compressors, electrical controls, and thermostats.

Conduct preventive maintenance (filter cleaning, refrigerant level checks, electrical testing, etc.).

Keep log sheets of maintenance work and service reports.

3. Site Coordination

Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, and civil teams during fit-out execution.

Report installation progress, issues, and completion status to the MEP Supervisor or Site Engineer.

Follow site safety and housekeeping protocols strictly.

4. Quality & Compliance

Ensure systems meet manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.

Adhere to HVAC safety procedures and environmental regulations for refrigerant handling.

Support testing, balancing, and handover documentation.

Skills & Competencies

Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and electrical wiring.

Skilled in fault diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.

Basic understanding of BMS integration is an advantage.

Teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma / ITI in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent on-the-job experience in UAE/ME

2-5 years of experience in installation and maintenance of HVAC systems (fit-out or facility management projects preferred).

UAE driving license (optional but preferred).

Knowledge of brands like Daikin, Mitsubishi, O General, LG, etc.

Work Environment

Field/site-based role.

Requires working at heights, in confined spaces, and under varying temperature conditions.

Occasional emergency service calls or after-hours work during peak periods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED1,400.00 - AED2,500.00 per month
