AC Technician
Job Title: AC Technician (HVAC/R Technician)
Department: Maintenance / Engineering
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Chief Engineer
Job Overview:
The AC Technician specializes in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems. This role is critical for ensuring a comfortable and climate-controlled environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Install, service, and repair a variety of HVAC/R systems, including split units, package units, chillers, and fan coil units.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils, replacing filters, checking refrigerant levels, and inspecting electrical components.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using schematic diagrams and testing instruments.
• Recharge systems with refrigerant, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
• Braze, solder, and weld pipes and tubing as part of installation or repair.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform corrective repairs efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
• Advise clients or management on system performance and recommend upgrades or replacements.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company safety policies and industry standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Diploma or certification in HVAC/R from a technical school or apprenticeship.
• EPA 608 Certification for handling refrigerants is mandatory.
• Proven experience (3+ years) as an AC Technician or HVAC Technician.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems, components, and refrigeration cycles.
• Proficiency in using tools such as manifold gauges, multimeters, vacuum pumps, and leak detectors.
• Physical strength and ability to work in extreme temperatures and at heights.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
