The AC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning systems and HVAC units. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure climate control systems are running efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Install new air conditioning systems, including minor ductwork and electrical connections.
Perform regular maintenance on HVAC systems, such as cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and replacing filters.
Perform HVAC systems servicing, such as filter cleaning, vent and duct cleaning, AC tray cleaning, fan and motor cleaning, drain flushing.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults for HVAC systems.
Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.
Perform replacement of thermostat, actuator & valve, motor bearing, capacitor, fan blade, fan motor, compressor and filter drier.
Repair coil leakage by brazing.
Perform gas recovery, set up the copper line for flushing using nitrogen if required, vacuum compressor and recharge refrigerant as per its standard required pressure.
Ensure compliance with local HVAC codes and health and safety standards.
Keep records of repairs and maintenance schedules as well as service report.
Test HVAC systems for functionality and efficiency.
Respond to emergency calls for HVAC-related issues.
Provide excellent customer service and communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
Collaborate with other technicians or contractors when required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or HVAC certification preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an HVAC or AC technician.
Strong understanding of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined or elevated spaces.
Familiarity with tools and equipment used in HVAC maintenance and repair.
Able to use brazing machine & refrigeration vacuum pump.
Able to do coil flushing using nitrogen and other required gases.
Working Conditions:
May involve working in hot or cold environments depending on the task.
May require working evenings, weekends, or being on-call only if emergencies.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is often required.
Salary Range: AED 2,500 + Accomodation + medical insurance
