The A/C Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing air conditioning systems and related equipment in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. The role ensures optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Setup
Install new air conditioning systems and components according to specifications and blueprints.
Test systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance with standards.
Maintenance & Repair
Perform routine preventive maintenance on A/C units.
Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions.
Repair or replace defective parts such as compressors, motors, fans, and electrical components.
Inspection & Testing
Inspect systems to identify potential issues and ensure efficiency.
Conduct performance tests and calibrations.
Customer Interaction
Advise clients on system care, energy-saving practices, and upgrades.
Provide accurate estimates for repairs and installations.
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure all work meets local, state, and federal codes.
Maintain detailed records of service calls, repairs, and installations.
Emergency Response
Respond to urgent repair requests and after-hours calls when necessary.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited HVAC training program.
Minimum
2-3 years of experience
in A/C or HVAC systems.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
Good physical condition; able to lift heavy equipment.
Skills
Technical knowledge of HVAC systems.
Manual dexterity and ability to use power/hand tools.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Attention to detail and safety compliance.
