AC Technician
Overall Purpose: To install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair air conditioning and climate control systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities:

• Installation: Install new AC units and systems, including wiring, piping, ductwork, and thermostats, following blueprints and manufacturer instructions.
• Maintenance: Perform scheduled servicing to ensure systems run efficiently, including cleaning filters, coils, and components, checking refrigerant levels, and testing system performance.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults using diagnostic tools. Repair or replace defective parts, seals, compressors, motors, and other components.
• Refrigerant Handling: Safely handle, recover, and recharge refrigerants in accordance with environmental regulations (e.g., EPA 608 certification in the U.S.).
• Customer Service: Explain technical issues and repairs to customers in a clear, understandable manner. Provide cost estimates and ensure customer satisfaction.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Technical diploma or certification in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration).
• EPA 608 Certification (or local equivalent) for refrigerant handling.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, mechanics, and thermodynamics.
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to work in confined spaces, on ladders, and lift heavy equipment.
