To perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems in a steel manufacturing facility, ensuring optimal cooling and air quality conditions across production and administrative areas in compliance with Abu Dhabi municipality and EHS guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including chillers, split units, window units, and ducted systems.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems using appropriate tools and technical knowledge.
Conduct regular preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns and ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
Inspect and test HVAC components to ensure proper functioning and energy efficiency.
Monitor and record refrigeration and pressure readings and maintain logs as per EHS compliance.
Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.
Respond promptly to HVAC-related breakdowns, especially in production-critical zones.
Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with local codes, EHS standards, and safety procedures.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
Coordinate with the maintenance team for shutdown schedules and critical repairs.
Support installation of new HVAC equipment during plant expansion or upgrade projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
ITI / Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an AC Technician, preferably in an industrial or steel manufacturing environment in the UAE or GCC.
Sound knowledge of HVAC systems and related components.
Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Familiarity with BMS (Building Management Systems) is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of occupational health and safety practices (OSHAD, ADNOC, or equivalent EHS standards).
Team player with good communication skills.
Physically fit and able to work in hot, industrial environments.
