Overview

The AC Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of air conditioning systems and related HVAC equipment across the school premises. The technician ensures optimal operation of cooling systems to provide a safe and comfortable environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Install, inspect, maintain, and repair all types of air conditioning systems, including split units, window units, and centralized HVAC systems.
Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
Perform regular preventive maintenance and safety checks.
Clean, adjust, and repair systems and perform warranty services.
Maintain records of repairs and maintenance schedules.
Ensure HVAC systems operate efficiently and comply with safety standards.
Respond promptly to service calls and emergency breakdowns.
Monitor inventory and order parts and supplies as needed.
Coordinate with the Facilities or Admin team to plan and prioritize maintenance tasks.
Assist in energy conservation initiatives by ensuring efficient operation of AC units.

Skills Description

Qualifications & Skills:

ITI / Diploma in Air Conditioning, HVAC, or Refrigeration (or equivalent).
2-5 years of experience in AC installation and maintenance (school/institutional experience preferred).
Good understanding of electrical systems and HVAC components.
Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Physical stamina and ability to work in hot or confined spaces.
Basic understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
