Summary of the job:

The primary responsibility of a 3PL lead in JNJ is to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of outsourced warehousing and transportation activities, by overseeing these critical functions, the 3PL lead plays a crucial role in delivering the best services and materials to JNJ patients and customers. Key tasks and objectives of the 3PL lead include:

Build Partnership: Build a strong partnership with the selected 3PL providers to align goals, expectations, and service level agreements, collaborate closely to ensure a shared understanding of JNJ's requirements and establish a framework for successful outsourcing.

Performance Management: Implement performance measurement systems to monitor the 3PL provider's performance against established key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements. Regularly review performance data and conduct performance reviews to drive continuous improvement.

Operational Efficiency: Optimize warehousing and transportation operations to achieve maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and technology integration to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.

Risk Mitigation: Implement robust risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions to warehousing and transportation operations, proactively identify and address risks such as capacity constraints, regulatory compliance, security, and contingency planning to ensure business continuity.

Duties & Responsibilities

As part of our day-to-day operations, it is essential to oversee and manage the following aspects to ensure smooth and efficient order processing and distribution center activities:

· Effective coordination with our third-party logistics (3PL) warehousing provider to ensuring the availability of resources and maintaining sufficient space and operational capacity to fulfill customer orders. · Capacity Planning: Regularly assess our inventory levels, order volumes, and projected growth to estimate the required storage space and operational capacity, collaborate with the 3PL provider to align their resources accordingly. · Demand Forecasting: Share accurate demand forecasts with the 3PL provider to enable them to plan their operations effectively, to ensure that they have sufficient resources available to handle the anticipated order volumes. · Communication Channels: Establish clear and efficient communication channels with the 3PL provider, and maintain regular contact to discuss inventory status, order fulfillment requirements, and any changes or updates that may impact operations. · Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor the performance of the 3PL provider to ensure that they meet agreed-upon service levels, track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time shipments, and inventory accuracy to ensure that customer expectations are consistently met. · Collaboration on Process Improvement: Work collaboratively with the 3PL provider to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency. Conduct regular reviews to discuss challenges, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions that optimize order fulfillment. · Contractual Agreements: Ensure that the contractual agreements with the 3PL provider clearly define the expected service levels, space requirements, and operational capacity needed to fulfill customer orders, regularly review, and update these agreements as business needs evolve. · Order Management: Monitor the order flow, ensuring orders are received promptly and accurately. Verify that all necessary information and documentation are complete and correct. · Inventory Control: Maintain a real-time overview of inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock availability to fulfill customer orders. Implement inventory tracking systems to prevent stockouts or overstocks. · Shipping and Logistics: Coordinate with the 3PL team to ensure timely and accurate shipment of orders from the Distribution Center, monitor carrier performance, track shipments, and address any issues that may arise during transit. · Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to minimize errors, damages, and discrepancies. Conduct regular inspections of products, packaging, and documentation to ensure compliance with quality standards. · Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and address any operational issues or challenges that may arise. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to order processing and distribution. · Documentation and Compliance: Ensure that all necessary shipping and regulatory documents are accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant regulations. Collaborate with the Compliance team to stay up to date with applicable regulations and implement necessary procedures. · Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and optimize operational processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Implement feedback mechanisms and analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate corrective actions. · Develop and maintain robust tracking of warehousing and transportation spend, perform data analysis to spot emerging issues and develop bottom-up budgets based on planned activity. · Managing inventory by performing inventory checks and monitor cycle count results with 3PL. · Optimize transportation route planning across all sales channels (Tender, Normal Business, Orthokit) with our third-party logistics (3PL) provider to achieve efficiency and cost-effectiveness. · Route Analysis: Conduct a thorough analysis of transportation routes for each sales channel, considering factors such as distance, traffic patterns, delivery requirements, and customer locations, identify opportunities for route optimization and cost reduction. · Consolidation and Load Optimization: Explore options for consolidating shipments from different sales channels to optimize load capacity and reduce transportation costs. Identify opportunities to maximize truck utilization. · Ensure monthly billing verification for warehousing and transportations from 3PL service providers and ensure on-time payment of suppliers.

· OTIF, OTS. · Picking accuracy, Packing accuracy. · Warehouse Costs · Transportation costs · Inventory Accuracy · Cost Improvements · Overages, shortages & damages (OS&D)

Experience Required

· Education: University degree, preferably in Supply Chain/Logistics, Business. · Experience: 5 to 7 years managing 3PL operations or direct logistics function, need to understand warehousing and distribution concepts, language, and best practices. · Advantages: Experience from a multi-national or regional company in MedTech environment. · Language: Arabic, English · Location: Jeddah or Riyadh · Relocation availability: N/A

· Experience working with quantitative & qualitative numbers and creating reports. · Ability to explain/ communicate the business situation in clear reports. · Experience in SAP is preferable · Expert in Excel, skilled enough in Word and Power Point · Excellent Oral communication skills Explain and communicate business highlights or issues and present it when required · Written Communication Skills - Clear and concise Job requires communications with offsite/virtual teams and third parties · Attention to details and thoroughness. Strong analytical skills. · Resolving complicated issues, Identify root causes, negotiation skills · Although not directly involved in contract negotiations, needs to apply pressure to various vendors on delivering what is required · Managing complexity Handle local market complexities and business processes
