Overview The Senior Road Engineer – Design will Review and approve the Roads design through all work stages of design development. Technical submittals review and approval including shop drawings and material submittals. Specific Responsibilities
- Perform technical reviews of roadway plans.
- Perform technical reviews of roadway calculations.
- Perform technical reviews of roadway specifications.
- Perform technical reviews of roadway construction cost estimates.
- Attend meeting with the designer and the client to ensure project requirements and appropriate design criteria are being met.
- Collaborate with the designer and the client to ensure the best design is being prepared.
- Attend meetings with the stakeholders to explain the technical aspects of the project.
- Attend meeting with regulatory authorities to assist in the obtaining of permits for the project.
- Participate in value engineering workshops.
- Perform site visits to determine if the proposed design is appropriate for the project site.
- Attend meeting with the designer to explain technical comments and resolve their disposition.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Profile
Skills / Competencies
- Must hold a B. Sc. In Civil Engineering / Roads or Highway Engineering from a recognized university or college.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in Roads / Highway Engineering design on large to mega infrastructure programs.
- Must be fluent and be able to effectively communicate in both spoken and written English.
- Professional level in using AutoCAD.
- In depth knowledge with international standards, specifications, and code
