SENIOR PLUMBER (Separate Detail )
Job Title: Senior Plumber / Lead Plumber
Reports To: Maintenance Manager, Project Manager, or Director of Facilities
Summary:
The Senior Plumber is a master-level professional responsible for overseeing complex plumbing projects, leading a team of plumbers, and serving as the primary technical expert. This role involves advanced troubleshooting, project management, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in all plumbing work.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership & Complex Work:

• Plan, coordinate, and execute large-scale plumbing installations, repairs, and renovations.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose the most challenging and complex plumbing system failures.
• Interpret advanced blueprints, specifications, and isometric drawings to plan project layouts.
• Specify and requisition materials, tools, and equipment required for projects.
• Perform advanced tasks such as medical gas system installation, backflow prevention device testing/certification, or large-scale water heater/system replacements.

Team Leadership & Supervision:

• Lead, mentor, and provide daily direction to a team of plumbers and apprentices.
• Assign work orders and manage the team's schedule to meet deadlines.
• Conduct quality control inspections of work performed by junior team members.
• Provide on-the-job training and ensure team adherence to safety protocols and plumbing codes.

Administrative & Customer Relations:

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and engineers on plumbing-related matters.
• Prepare cost estimates and project proposals for clients or management.
• Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and project progress.
• Ensure all work is permitted and inspected as required by local jurisdictions.

Safety & Compliance:

• Enforce a strict safety culture and ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations and company policies.
• Stay current with updates to national and local plumbing codes.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings with the plumbing team.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in the plumbing trade.
• Valid Master Plumber license as required by state/local regulations.
• Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
• Extensive knowledge of all applicable plumbing codes, safety standards, and best practices.
• Excellent project management, communication, and client-facing skills.
• Ability to read and interpret complex architectural and engineering plans.
• Certifications in specialized areas (e.g., Backflow Prevention, Medical Gas) are a significant plus.
