Senior Manager, Architectural DesignThe Senior Manager, Architectural Design is a valuable part of the ADS (Architecture & Design Studio) COE (Centre of Excellence) and will report to the Architectural Design Director. The Senior Manager, Architectural Design will work in the Architecture & Design team on Majid Al Futtaim Properties new developments or redevelopments projects for the Shopping Malls, Residential Communities and Hotels. The position will manage the in-house Architectural team and the consultants' teams in delivering high quality design outcomes through effective functional planning, customer focused design solutions and enhancement of the MAF brand. The Senior Manager, Architectural Design is responsible for the project vision, maintain the design concept and safeguard the design intent from concept to delivery. As a custodian of the overall design, the Architectural Design Director should also drive forward MAF initiatives with regards to Sustainability, digital design and innovation aspects in line with MAFP Net Zero targets. Role Details - Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Prepare vision documents for all the projects together with the Development or Asset management teams. These documents will analyze define the customer journey experience and propose design directions for the project.Support key stakeholders in the development of project specific project briefs and scope of work by producing competent Architectural planning solutions, with a strong understanding of the customer journey, target customer and designing stimulating spaces in accordance to the project brief, business objectives and MAF standards Incorporate stakeholder requirements (e.g. Leasing, Development, operations) in the project brief while adhering to and maintaining MAF design standards. Manage the Architectural team in producing conceptual, competent and functional architectural layouts, with a strong understanding of design principals for retail, shopping malls and mixed-use projects. Work with the team in conceptualizing visions and ideas that are unique, creative and first to market and take responsibility in developing them into a viable, feasible and functional drawings.Manage the design of projects by effectively representing the Architecture & Design Studio in meetings with stakeholders, providing design expertise on specific topics, understanding the linear design process and managing expectations of delivery, providing clear direction to the internal and external design teams.Design and implement the basics of retail planning, mixed-use and residential masterplanning with a sound level of understanding of infrastructure, zoning, urban planning and public realm articulation within the fabric of mid to large scale planning exercises.Sound understanding of the customer journey and creating unique customer experiences, by designing stimulating, new to market concepts, for various typologies of retail, shopping malls, mixed-use, open spaces and public amenities in accordance with the project brief and MAF standards.Guide the wider group of consultants in development of final design and ensure that project programmes and budgets are coordinated with Project Management. Sign-off on completed design based on Design Brief and other stakeholders' inputs.Work with the team in producing high quality conceptual and architectural plans and masterplans through different mediums from hand sketches to 2D drawings and supplement with necessary imagery and documentation that are essential for high quality presentation packages.Manage the architectural team to produce good level of 3D imagery & renderings adopting the latest technology and softwares to assist in the production of design packages at a high quality for internal and external presentations.Conduct periodic design review & provide recommendation on VEs that affect the design intent. Make design recommendations for specific issues as requested by Development & PM teams.Review and identify any income generating opportunities that can be integrated into the designEnsure adherence to MAF brand quality, acting as a design center of excellence.Codify specific design standards in a continually updated design standards document that is coordinated across all stakeholders.Ensure benchmarking of trends and innovation of our project designs to the international marketEnsure that the ADS use modern technological systems and processes and the staff are appropriately trained.Establish, drive and manage research on development planning and design of new development trends and concepts.Spearhead design quality and process audits of development / redevelopment projects and provide inputs for quality enhancement and standards.Attend seminars / workshops to discover new concepts, ideas and technological developments in the planning and design and share knowledge within ADS and the development team.Ensure compliance with the MAFP Code of Conduct, Departmental policies and HC Policies and Procedures at all times.Be the advocate and ambassador of aligning and cascading the MAFP values across ADS COE and ensure that relevant team adhered to and exhibit the same all the time.Build the capability of staff reporting into by providing on time regular feedback including annual review on performance and identify areas of improvement / reinforcement for further development.Manage, guide and mentor the design team reporting into and take full responsibility in identifying potential talent and timely supporting professional development.Lead by example - thrive to create an honest and open work environment where individuals collaborate /support each other as a team and are passionate to achieve a common business objective.
