Job description
The candidate will be required to handle the overall management and supervision of the accounting of different countries. He or she will be responsible to prepare management reports and financial statements.
Furthermore, the candidate must review current accounting practices and processes to drive efficiencies. He or She must also take on the role of an administrator of the company's accounting software (Deal) and master it.
The candidate will plan and direct the accounting activities of the Middle East accounting department for countries including: Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan and Oman.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages the accounting staff who are responsible to maintain the books of their respective entities, financial reporting, billing, collections, payments.
Recruits and hires accounting staff and conducts performance evaluations.
Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.
Core Responsibilities:
Lead a robust monthly closing of books.
Prepare and review ledger entries to ensure they are in line with company requirements and policies.
Maintain general ledger system and schedules and prepare monthly financial statements with regulatory reports for management.
Provide accurate financial data and recommendations based on findings.
Maintain periodic reconciliation, consolidation and reporting.
Review and update accounting policies and ensure they are harmonized with company policies.
Ensure that financial consolidation processes is in compliance with relevant statutory, regulatory and corporate governance requirements.
Complete the consolidation of audited financials and manage any intercompany disputes.
Manage all tax requirements for the company.
Prepare with the accounting teams balance sheet reconciliations, complete with supporting backup, on a monthly basis. Any reconciling items should be cleared monthly.
Reconcile bank accounts monthly with accounting team support and do necessary rectifications.
Communicate and commit to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures.
Manage the fixed assets register, inventory and physical verification of assets.
Ensure staying up to speed with IFRS standards and maintain thorough knowledge of all jobs in Accounting and Cost Control areas. Also, be able to cover any absences of associates.
Complete any other tasks assigned from time to time by the Finance Director.
Ensure quarterly reporting data on the consolidation package for all entities (BFC).
Audits accounts to ensure compliance with local tax rules; follow & coordinates with each accounting local team and outside auditors to provides needed information for the annual external audit.
Profile
Required qualifications and skills:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
8 years of relevant work experience in a senior accounting role
