Job description
To coordinate with other departments to ensure that the local authorities requirements for the project execution are fulfilled
Identify potential variations in costs & the scope of work
To communicate & coordinate with other departments to secure all project requirement
To ensure the appropriate use and treatment of engineering materials within the design
To compile engineering & technical specifications, operation/test manuals maintenance procedures & work instructions where required as part of the project
To witness and co-ordinate assembly, testing, commissioning & operation at all locations
Make, develop & encourage any technical suggestions that will enhance the overall Project Engineering or Operational Efficiency
Implement and organize any approved modifications to the project ensuring all changes are fully documented & included in the appropriate documents
Liaise with and coordinate the activities of vendors & subcontractors as and when required as a part of the project without commercial authority
Keep up to date with ongoing developments in construction site and MEP Systems Engineering
Assist with inspection of incoming items as appropriate to knowledge, experience & training
Interface with the other engineers to guarantee all design work is carried out with the common target of optimizing final cost & schedule
Supervise any activity assigned to Third Party Contractors. This includes but not limited to preparation of scope of work, site supervision, approval of deliverables & compliance with project targets
To prepare operations installation manuals including the initiation & maintaining of drawings & calculations for inclusion in procedures/manuals
To become familiar with building science, operational schedule, procedures & safety
Participate in daily project meetings & toolbox talks to maintain good communications with Project Manager, Supervisor, Client & Consultants where ever applicable
Provide regular communication & coordination between commercial department & with project office, & provide progress reports relating directly to project engineering & operational activities as defined by Project Manager
Maintain inventory of project equipment list and inform Project Manager & Safety Engineer of any change in equipment requirements
Assist in planning of mobilization/demobilization of project equipment
Review & be familiar with operations department specifications, design & drawing procedures in order to conform to the Company’s integrated management system, the specific requirements of the client & other governmental &/or statutory bodies
Conduct all activities within the company policy, procedures & work instruction
Monitor environmental & climate conditions to ensure the smooth workflow at site
Perform other work-related duties as assigned
Profile
Experience in a similar function (Minimum 7 years) Skills:
Sufficient Computer skills and proper English reading & writing.
Sufficient knowledge of project planning software such as MS Project.
Awareness of Health and Safety Standards and Regulations.
Cost Control, Project Audit
Committed Team Player / Leader.
Specific Requirements
Solid knowledge and experience in fast-track construction projects
Experience in steel structures and marine works is highly favorable
Knowledge in cost control and
Willing to work under pressure
Problem solver with positive attitude
The Project Engineer will be responsible but not limited to implement Project Progress Chart in line with the company’s policies, develop engineering designs, specifications, cost estimates and prepare written reports, technical specifications, and material specifications for operation, maintenance, and construction programs associated with the projects and facilities.
