Job Description

The Operations Manager is responsible for the entire manufacturing, planning, production schedules, quality, stores, budgeting, health and safety environment, training, development, operational budget, facility and maintenance of the Fencing Factory, Pre-Painted Sheets Factory, and Main Warehouse, in addition to the Logistics and Transportation of manufactured products and warehouse material to customers and/or other branches. This position oversees and manages all employees in the assigned factories and warehouse, delivery drivers, crane operators, forklift drivers, gate keepers. And watchman of Branch under the general leadership and guidance of the Branch Manager. The primary objective is to direct, manage and review the production process, warehouse and logistics to achieve business objectives with respect to production, quality and profits in line with the business plan and sales forecast, improving efficiencies and reducing costs to maximize profits. Additionally, to maintain close relationships with the Sales and Marketing Department for projects fulfilment and product developments according to market analysis and needs. Qualifications : Bachelor's degree required; preference for degrees in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Operations Management. (Essential) Relevant operations certification.(Desirable) Experience: Must have a minimum of ten years' experience in plant/manufacturing operations; preferably in a building material and industrial facility. (Essential) Knowledge, skills & abilities: Excellent understanding of the business full cycle. Knowledge of various fencing and pre-painted sheets systems, materials and installation methods. Demonstrates the ability to meet and exceed productivity standards, works quickly and accurately. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications. Excellent technical knowledge of equipment, products and processes. Knowledge of the proper and effective use of equipment and materials. Knowledge in quality inspections, ensure attention to detail and detect and repair problems, and experienced in quality auditing.

  • Production/Manufacturing Operations: *
Manages day-to-day operations of assigned factories performance, product and packing quality, inventory control, cost, productivity, distribution, and safety, Direct, manage and review the production/manufacturing Capacity Planning, Direct the planning, scheduling, and controlling of production and inventories within the assigned factories to match the demand, Deliver procurement plan and schedule for raw materials in consistent with production plan, and follow up timely procurement while, supervising procurement process and negotiations to secure best price and delivery assurance to meet deadlines, Negotiate vendor pricing for supplies and related contracts, maintain positive trust relationship with suppliers to ensure constant flow of required raw materials and liaise with purchasing managers to develop and improve supplier relationship, Maintain a firm knowledge of the products, the amount to keep in stock and confirming and signing of purchase orders,
  • Quality Control: *
Monitor, examine and report on quality defect issues and help determine necessary corrective actions to eliminate repetitive failures, Liaise with the quality control department to ensure products meet set production specifications.
  • Product Development: *
** Work with Product Development, Suppliers, Engineering, Quality, and Factory Employees in finding innovative ways to improve the quality and productivity of the company products, Maintain close connection and coordination with the Sales and Marketing management team to develop products according to the market needs, Participate in new product development and planning by researching the cost and ability to produce the product, Communicate new product production plans to supervisors and participate in implementation of the new product's implementation.
Communicate regularly with Sales and Marketing teams to support continued organizational growth Projects and Tendering: Guide the responsible team in the preparation of offers/ quotations to clients, participation in the tenders and following up on enquiries to convert them into work orders, Know and stay abreast of design requirements, codes and materials, use expertise to prepare accurate and competitive proposals and contracts.
  • Inventory and Warehouse Management *
Responsible for the day-to-day functioning of store operation, including purchasing, requisitioning, receiving, storing, and distributing stock to other branches and/or customers, Oversee the team receiving materials in store to ensure proper handling of the material, Allocate storage space and ensure material is stored in the most safe and effective manner. Responsible for stock inventory and maintenance of all related records for inventory control and future requirements, Implement and enforce established daily operating procedures to ensure store is clean, adequately stocked, organized, and well kept, Ensure supplied stocks meet demand and keep track of inventory and supplies that need restocking after careful analysis to prevent overstocking and ordering, Enter shipping and inventory data in the information system and maintain updated and accurate records, Verify receipts and confirm purchase contents and orders are complete by issuing Goods Received Note (GRN) and entering material information in the warehouse information system, Communicate new items/stock arrival to all other branches, keeping them informed and updated with inventory levels and new stock status, Perform counting of inventory and report findings to Inventory, Warehouse and Logistics Manager on regular basis, Monitor stock movements and items available in other branches, coordinate the requisition to send and deliver material from other branches to branch when required, Work closely with the Inventory, Warehouse and Logistics Manager to forecast and prepare estimates for future inventory needs in branch, suggesting items and quantity, Maintain regular contact with suppliers for repairs and/or purchase of stock, Handle claims on damaged, shortages, discrepancies, or incomplete shipments, and report to Purchasing and Warehouse Departments for resolving the claims, Report market trends, prices, and conduct price and product benchmarking on regular basis,
  • Transportation and Logistics: *
Provide seamless, efficient, and responsive delivery of finished products to customers by scheduling and overseeing the delivery of manufactured goods, Manage warehouse material distribution and deliveries for customers and branches in coordination with the Transport Coordinator. Ensure all drivers, crane drivers and forklift operators have valid driving license and correct license category type Financials: Identifying costs such as indirect, direct, fixed, variable, capital etc. in order to arrive at actual unit cost of production for all processes involved in the production/manufacturing operations in consultation with Finance Department so that preparation of estimates for both internal and external clients can be facilitated. Liaise with Director of Sales, Marketing and Business Development to analyze costs, Product Costing, and set prices, Manage operations budget to ensure minimal production cost and optimal product quality, and ensure operational budgets are utilized effectively, Achieve production performance targets for the company as per approved budget, Assist in the development of budgets and cost planning for the factories and warehouse, Review jobs, time tickets and materials invoices for projects, Review, submit and give final approval to accounts receivable for all projects, Document project discrepancy between budget and actual, Monitor accounts receivables for the operations department and keep accounts current, Stay within expenditure delegations and purchase procedures, Ensure continual cost effective and efficient use of all resources.
  • Health and Safety (H&S): *
Collaborate with H&S Manager to develop and implement safety policies for general plant operations Coordinate with the H&S Officer for all safety issues, Ensure all reporting employees adhere to the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniforms as applicable to their roles, Ensure H&S systems are practiced by all staff, visitors, contractors etc., Implement and maintain systems to support the adherence to H&S requirements,
  • Reporting: *
Develop and maintain reports of the daily employee work activity and schedules, Maintain and review quality reports/statistics to ensure consistent, quality finished products, Report daily in writing to the Branch Manager, Director of Sales, Marketing and Business Development and Inventory, Warehouse and Logistics Manager on all related unusual activity that must be noted, Report to inventory team regarding any missing/damaged items, Prepare and provide monthly reports to Director of Sales, Marketing and Business Development for Fencing and Pre-Painted Sheets factories production status and statistics,
  • Administration *
Enforce adherence to and following of all company policies and procedures across reporting departments, Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the entire reporting facilities, Ensure service vehicles, equipment and employees present a clean and professional image Complete daily paperwork and computer entry in a timely manner as established by management, Maintain records, possess internal and external co-ordination with department and others. Provide strategic guidance to the organization through participation in meetings
  • Management and Leadership *
Oversees Fencing Factory, Pre-Painted Sheets Factory, Warehouse and Transportation employees in the Branch, works with Branch Manager to manage drivers and distribution and logistics, Crane and Forklift Operators, store keepers, watchmen, gatekeepers, and labors. Standardize an appropriate organization structure for assigned factories to enhance efficiency and develop roles and responsibilities for all employees, Monitor and report the daily attendance of employees to HR Department, entering attendance information in the BackOffice system, Assess new joiners to allocate appropriate work tasks, and coordinate on job training for them, Assign duties and work load/schedules to employees, validate staff over-time and approval process, authorize annual and medical leaves, Supervise and discipline all reporting employees according to the company policy, and in coordination with Line Manager and HR Department, Continuous evaluation of department's performance and achievement of KPI's to improve performance, Through management decisions, communication and behavior, create a culture and a team that works together to meet customer needs and achieve desired results, Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Education:
