POSITION SUMMARYThe incumbent is accountable for the overall engineering execution of the NEOM Hydrogen Project turn-key lumpsum EPC contract(s) for the scope of Air Products: a 2GW solar power plant; a 2GW wind farm; a 400 MWh battery storage facilities for power storage; an electrical transmission system with 200 km overhead power lines and required substations; and an electrical grid system to connect the various facilities and (back-up) connection(s) to the primary electrical grid; final capacity is subject to optimization and will be final when the EPC contract commences.

This project is one of the largest and most complex capital projects for Air Products and is transformational for the organization and beyond. It will be the first industrial-scale mega project providing a green energy carrier around the world to contribute to the decarbonization of the industry. The significant challenge here is derived from the fact that Air Products has never been involved in renewable power projects before and the and the size of the project. Accountability includes strategic and tactical matters associated with project execution and commences during the project development phase and continues through start-up and commissioning.

The incumbent must possess expert-level engineering management skills and knowledge, along with exceptional communication and influencing skills. The role requires significant interaction with strategic partners, the Power EPCs, and suppliers to ensure effective coordination across all involved to ensure delivery on commitments. The incumbent also interfaces extensively with external and internal parties on engineering and technical matters and shall have significant travel/possible relocating to EPC location and then the construction site for the construction phase. The project is executed utilizing global capabilities, necessitating a robust cross-cultural competency.

Other Factors: Focus and experience on renewable power and electrical transmission systems in design and construction, as well as megaproject execution PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES During project development, establish strategies for Engineering and Design- plus Engineering field support. Review and assess any JV, strategic partners' or other third parties' scope to ensure alignment. Oversight and direction of all engineering execution activities- on time on budget on quality, including AP engineer team, sub-EPC and third party engineering. Ensures effective technical coordination with Clients or third-party representatives: Co-ordinates the review of JV specifications and procedures, preparation of scope changes, and manages JV review of AP deliverables & vendor drawings. Co-ordinates the review of EPC specifications and procedures, preparation of deviation lists and scope changes, and manages review of EPC deliverables & vendor drawings Lead the internal and/or external problem-solving necessary to arrive at appropriate engineering decisions. Ensures all changes are managed in accordance with the project procedures Ensures that lessons learned for engineering are clearly identified, recorded and communicated. Perform Hold Point Checks (determine measures to be taken against risks, HSE requirements and savings potential) and Design and HSE Reviews and check and release essential documents for the next project phase (phase achievement). Develop and lead a high-performing engineering team that includes, other Air Products functions, external partners, Motivate the team members involved in the project to complete performance. Maintain a safe work environment and support corporate and organizational safety goals in the office, with suppliers, and at fabrication and field sites. Ensure Risk Management procedures are followed, and any issues addressed/resolved. Qualification: Min. 20 years relevant professional experience. Strong track record in the management of detailed engineering activities of power projects. Experience on Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC), Power Generation, Power Plant, Renewable Energy projects. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Chartered Engineer
