Reports to: Recreation Manager Job Overview To supervise the daily operations of the Massage Rooms. To ensure smooth functioning of duties assigned by Recreation Manager. Duties and Responsibilities FINANCIAL RETURNS To initiate special up selling programs for massage. To ensure the correct accounting procedures as per the P&P are followed by all staff for opening and closing the Reception Desk and for operating the Micros. To take every opportunity to "up sell" all facilities and services of the hotel in a discreet and professional manner. PEOPLE Ability to work as part of a diverse team with colleagues from different viewpoints, cultures and countries. GUEST EXPERIENCE To take overall responsibility for the daily operation of the massage rooms by ensuring adequate maintenance and quality of service is provided for all guests. Confer with clients about their medical histories and any problems with stress and/or pain in order to determine whether massage would be helpful. Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards to include: Being attentive to guests. Accurately and promptly fulfilling guest requests Understand and anticipate guest needs. Maintain a high level of knowledge which will enhance the guest experience Demonstrate a service attitude that exceeds expectations. RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS The person needs to have thorough and deep knowledge of body pressure points. He or she is responsible for keeping the room and the equipment's clean after usage. Massages customers and administers other body conditioning treatments for hygienic or remedial purposes: Applies alcohol, lubricants, or other rubbing compounds. Massages body, using such techniques as kneading, rubbing, and stroking flesh, to stimulate blood circulation, relax contracted muscles, facilitate elimination of waste matter, or to relieve other conditions, using hands or vibrating equipment. Administers steam or dry heat, ultraviolet or infrared, or water treatments on request of customer or instructions of physician. May give directions to clients in activities, such as reducing or remedial exercises. May examine client and recommend body conditioning activities or treatments. May record treatments furnished to customers. To ensure that there is adequate staff coverage throughout each day, including allocation of meal breaks and days off. To inspect equipment and facilities and advice the Assistant Recreation Manager of maintenance requests to maintain correct level of operation. Maintain an information notice board and ensure suitable illustration/pictures are displayed. To ensure the correct booking procedures are maintained for massage and any other use of the facilities. To advise the Supervisor of any Purchase Requests that are needed and to follow up on these until the goods are received. Aware of and adhere to the Fire, Life and Safety standards of the Company ensuring to report any risks to Management. To fully understand the different types of massage and be able to describe the benefits to prospective guests. Perform other tasks at the level of the role as directed by your line manager in pursuit of the achievement of business goals. ACCOUNTABILITY Accountable to Recreation Manager. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS A graduate of vocational course in Massage Therapy or Reflexology. Must hold authentic license issued by the Department of Health (DOH). High School graduates are also encourage to apply, but must have experience as massage therapist. Must have wide knowledge and expertise in various massages. Must have at least 1-3 years experience. The masseuse needs to have strong communication skills both verbal and written in English. He or she should have an empathetic personality. It is needed to have the ability of developing a rapport with the clients and try best to make them feel comfortable.
