The Position Summary As Compliance Lead for the Middle East (ME) in Roche Diagnostics Middle East (RDME), you will support the RDME Management Centre, reporting directly to the Head of Legal and Compliance ME / ME Compliance Officer, and working closely with the Regional EMEA LATAM Compliance Officer, Local Compliance Officers and Compliance Liaisons in the ME region. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to highest legal, regulatory and internal compliance standards, driving a culture where compliance is embraced at all levels of the organization, conduct investigations if required, and work across the ME region, in close collaboration with the Local Compliance Officers and Compliance Liaisons, to ensure appropriate processes and controls are in place. The position is based in Dubai and may involve up to 30% travel. Your Responsibilities
  • Effectively drive compliance risk assessment and state of the art compliance programs in the Management Center Dubai
  • Provide support to the Local Compliance Officers and Compliance Liaisons in the region to ensure effective implementation of the compliance program. Identify and ensure adoption of best practices
  • Consult and advise business departments regarding compliance related actions
  • Lead the implementation, communication, training and facilitation of group compliance initiatives, develop internal compliance programs and provide training to employees and business partners in the Management Center Dubai and across the region
  • Visit affiliates and distributors in order to assess the maturity of the compliance program and implement improvement measures
  • Find, analyze and make proposals to mitigate compliance related risks and report on these. Follow-up on BEIR and Speak-up cases and provide guidance in addressing those
  • Support selection and development of Local Compliance Officers & Compliance Liaisons, and contribute to the performance management in close collaboration with General and Country Managers and the Regional EMEA LATAM Compliance Officer
  • Establish and maintain a productive network of Local Compliance Officer and Compliance Liaisons across the ME region and support them in education and training activities
  • Support affiliates to prepare for successful audits
  • Ensure all the countries under his/her responsibility have the appropriate set of evidence for corporate defense, providing regular updates and recommendations to the Head of Legal and Compliance ME / ME Compliance Officer, Regional EMEA LATAM Compliance Officer and the General Manager ME Management Centre
  • Chair the ME Compliance Committee and ensure RDME interests are represented in the Mecomed Compliance Committee
  • Establish, maintain and adapt guidelines and advise business departments on their interactions with HCPS, HCOs, Patients & Patient organisations, and other stakeholders
  • Lead the compliance team, creating a stimulating and motivating workplace capable of attracting, engaging, developing and retaining high performers
  • Promote teamwork and transparent communication at all levels, share clear performance expectations, foster feedback and open two-way communication and coaching of employees

Who You Are
  • You hold a MSc or BSc degree in Law and/or Finance or other equivalent degree, depending on related professional background
  • You have a minimum of 7 years in the management of Compliance requirements in pharmaceuticals/diagnostics industry, and in developing and implementing Compliance programs, with a track record of aligning the organization behind compliance culture. Group Audit experience is a plus
  • You are visionary and have strong strategic and tactical experience in driving compliance agenda
  • You have proven leadership and people management experience and capabilities. Experience in a regional role and understanding of distributor markets are desirable
  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken. Arabic is considered a plus
  • You empathic, have strong communication and interpersonal skills that enables you to ignite enthusiasm for compliance subject
  • You are able to operate successfully in a matrix environment with shared accountability and responsibilities
  • You are customer/business oriented
  • You are a creative problem solver and apply analytical thinking
  • You built project management experience
  • You built strong presentation, facilitation and training skills
